V-Sit

The V-Sit is an abdominal exercise routine that can also help people tone some muscles in the upper legs. The V-Sit is likely to be a challenging exercise for many people, especially those who are just beginning to employ fitness routines in order to strengthen and flatten stomach muscles. Its areas of focus include the rectus abdominis in the center of the midsection, the oblique muscles along the sides of the torso, and the hip flexors in the thighs.

To perform a V-Sit, one must sit on the floor and jackknife his or her body at the hips by bringing the legs up and touching them with outstretched arms, keeping the legs straight. It is said that holding the position at the height of the exercise, as well as holding it briefly at the bottom, right before you lower your legs back down to the ground, will make the V-Sit even more difficult. Those who believe that this exercise sounds easy may want to try it. Again, the V-Sit is a routine that could be beneficial for people who wish to work on their middle and side abdominal muscles, and for those who wish to flatten stomach regions through the means of active, equipment free exercise.
