Superman Superheroes are often known for a number of things, including superpowers and incredible physiques, whether in live action or animated forms. But that is not why the abdominal exercise known as the Superman has the name that it does. Rather, the Superman is an abdominal workout that aims to flatten stomach regions by making the participant appear to be striking a superhero pose.
Performing the Superman involves kneeling on the ground with knees at a hips’ width apart and palms on the ground at shoulders’ width apart. The spine should be angled upward, and the thighs should be just about perpendicular to the floor. Then, without allowing the body to sway either way, the individual contracts his or her abdominal muscles, raises the right arm straight out forward, and stretches the left leg straight out backward. Slowly raising the appendages will work the abdominal and lower back muscles, helping to flatten stomach areas. The motion is repeated with the opposite arm and leg, and it will need to be done a certain number of times in order to constitute a full set. As with any exercise, the more often the Superman is performed, the more repetitions one will be able to do in each set.
